With the Holiday season in full swing, it seems like the list of Holiday parties to attend gets longer and longer each year. While I am thrilled to spend time with my friends and family every chance I get, the abundance of partying is taking it's toll. I've gained 8 lbs since Thanksgiving (though I have been on a strength cycle, which includes drinking my post-WOD recovery with Goat's milk- which is AMAZING) most likely though due to my less disciplined eating habits.
Some Christmas cookies? Yes please.
A champagne toast? Of course!
Paella? Why not, it's the Holidays.
After last week's onslaught of Holiday cheer, I’m reining it in this week and eating clean again. I kicked it off with a 16 hour intermittent fast this morning. After yesterday's bout with benchmark Girl WOD "Barbara" it's clear that I'm due for a detox (never mind that on Saturday night we were at a Holiday party until close to midnight).
WOD for Sunday 12.16.12
"Barbara"
5 rounds
20 pull ups
30 pushups
40 BF sit ups
50 air squats
rest 3 mins between rounds
45:41
The note here is that my push-ups cost me the race. This is not new news, ust another indicator that I have to do pushups on a daily basis.

This couplet of clean and jerks (which I love) and running (which I loathe) came together like a whirlwind of suck then awesome. I have known, for quite a while, that my endurance, particularly running, is a struggle. The difference today was in the fact that I as soon as I felt the body screaming to stop I was able to shift the thinking to the breath which helped me get through the runs. The top men's time is around the 18 minute mark.
The journey really is endless.
