I know how easy it is for people to get really pumped over great feats of physical prowess. It's why so many CrossFit Games spectators love the Olympic lifting ladders. The "how the hell do they do that" thought sparks wonder and curiosity, plus who doesn't love watching a bunch of badasses at the top of their game, right?
Enter Max Height Box Jumps. Personally, I find these ridiculous. (It is worth noting that I am having a total mental block in fixed base vertical jumping right now. My disdain is no-doubt tied to my fear of falling face first and smashing out my teeth.)
For the record... 30" box w/ 2 45lbs Rogue bumper plates and 1 10lbs plate.
Today's WOD brought back my new
nemesis, rope climbs. If you are a new reader, you should read some of my
older posts whereby the pull-up bar was my former nemesis. I have since pacified
that relationship and transferred the disdain on to the rope.
WOD
3 rounds for time
12 Hang Snatches (full squat) 95#
12 burpee box jumps 24"
3 rope climbs (9 Australian 1 ring pull-ups for scaled)
This one WOD combined one very strong movement for me (the hang snatch) and 3 weaknesses. I scaled to the A1RPU in round 2 and 3.
My final time? Good question. I completely forgot to make a note of it.
No rep.
